PATTY MELT WITH BALSAMIC ONION CHEDDAR
Warm, goey and rich in flavor, this Patty Melt will warm your souls this autumn season.
2 TBSP butter
2 yellow onions, sliced
1/2 lb of ground beef
6 oz Fiscalini Balsamic Onion Cheddar
2 TBSP dijon mustard
4 slice of rye bread
Salt and Pepper
Melt butter in pan and add onions. Stir frequently until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Form oblong patties that are slightly larger than the bread you are using (Patties will shrink considerably.) Once flipped, add shredded cheese to patty and cover while on skillet to melt cheese.
Butter one side of each slice of rye and toast on a warm skillet until slightly crispy and browned. Spread mustard on one side of toasted bread.
Assemble sandwich by adding patty with melted cheese then top with caramelized onion.
